The standard yoga mat is 68″ long, which usually works just fine for people under 5ft 8in. Any taller than that, and you will dangle off a standard mat for lying down poses. Even if you are shorter than 5ft 8in, you may prefer a longer mat to avoid constantly readjusting yourself.
