4.3I bought the Revolution because I wanted a larger mat (I’m 6′2″ with wide shoulders), predominantly to be used for home practice. I narrowed my decision down to either the Revolution, or the Black Mat Pro, eventually choosing the Revolution based on the reviews on Amazon, and the PrAna marketing. I’m a very heavy sweater, and mostly practice in a hot environment, so I was specifically looking for a mat that would stop my hands and feet slipping. After 1 month’s use, here is my assessment of the Revolution:
Pros:
Perfect size for a taller yogi.
Nice colour (I picked the grass green).
Eco friendly – natural rubber.
Nice and sticky if your hands and feet are dry.
Cons:
Strong rubber smell for the first couple of weeks (has now faded)
Pretty slippery once you get sweaty, although it seems to be improving slightly as it breaks in.
Expensive.
Heavy.
Overall, I’m quite happy with my purchase, and after being initially disappointed with the strong smell and slippery surface when wet, I’m now growing to love my Revolution.
