“This mat is fantastic for traveling. It indeed folds up to the size of a laptop and packs easily. It also dries very quickly which is important to me since I practice Bikram yoga… Being very thin, it does not give much, if any, padding though. So if you like a squishy, padded mat, this is not the mat for you. If you don’t care about padding but want a great travel mat, I highly recommend it.”

4.3Manduka has FINALLY made a great travel mat! Its “lite” mats are thinner than its regular mats, but this is a mat you can actually put in your suitcase and take on a business trip without fear of getting charged an overage fee from the airline.
PROS: It is super light (hence the name), folds up right into your suitcase and is very grippy.
CON: There is virtually no support, but I guess I wouldn’t expect any in such a lightweight mat. For extra cushioning, you cna put it on top of the regular studio issue mats.

4.3I used to have the Gaiam travel mat, lost it, so took a chance on this one since I love Manduka’s black mat. I was looking for a mat that would prevent me from sliding on the hotel room carpet, and this does that perfectly! don’t get this mat if you’re looking for lots of padding, but if you need something light and sticky, this is the mat for you. I’ve only had the mat for 4 months, but so far haven’t seen any wear and tear.

3There are 2 types of travel yoga mats: 1) lighter versions of premium yoga mats, 2) flimsy mats that are more like sheets that prevent you from slipping but offer no cushion. That is this mat and it does what it’s supposed to. I personally need some support so will get a prolite or ekolite instead. Make sure you know what you want before you buy this mat.
