Customer Feedback
“nice thickness and firmness – much better support for balancing poses – you get what you pay for!”
Excerpt of actual user review on DicksSportingGoods.com

“This felt a little heavier than the other mats we tried. The mat didn’t slip or bunch up while we practiced — even when we held our “plank” pose… It also nicely cushioned our back and head when we lay on it…”
Excerpt of actual editorial review by The Wall Street Journal

“…A month ago my yoga teacher suggested I buy a manduka travel-light mat for a firmer support under my feet; ILOVE IT! It is light and easy to carry and most importantly my balance has improved. It is firm but very comfortable…..”

The prolite is probably on par with many other premium mats but I’d say it’s too heavy to label as a true travel mat. My yoga teacher told me this was perfect as a regular mat so I bought it. It’s been 2 weeks and so far I’m really happy with it. I don’t slide or have to use two mats anymore. Wahoo!

I have the Manduka Black Mat, which is the best mat ever, but wanted a mat that I could bring with me on a yoga retreat. I didn’t want to lug my Black Mat with me so got this one because it’s about half the weight. There’s a slight difference in cushioning and it’s a little more narrow, but this is the same awesome mat! If you want the same quality as the Black Mat, but without the weight, get this mat!

This is the first mat I actually liked using. There is enough cushion and doesn’t stretch out of shape. I love the closed cell construction, giving me an impermeable/ antibacterial surface. It’s worth the extra money, I spent about half on a crappy wal-mart mat that wore out in 5 months.

Here’s my complaints, it becomes completely slippery once it gets wet! NO TRACTION AT ALL ONCE IT IS WET! Your foot/hand WILL slide…
I was SO disappointed when I had to wipe my mat between poses.
I was even more disappointed when my foot started to slide away from me putting me into deeper splits than I expected.

Second complaint, don’t be fooled by the ‘lifetime’ warranty. It’s conditional, and you can’t just send it back because you don’t like it…

this is the best mat ever. i have the black mat, but actually like it less than the prolite. the prolite has better traction in my experience, and the deference in cusion is marginal at best. i also have the eko mat and still think that the prolite is the best.

the yoga studio I go to purchases these as their rentals and one day I’d forgotten my mat…I will never go back to my old mat. I practice hot ashtanga yoga, and while these mats need to be cleaned first to prevent slip, they are amazing. I find most of my friends complained about it being slippery because they didn’t clean the mat properly. great cushion, great traction, great mat.

I’ve ruined enough practices with this incredibly slippery Manduka ProLite mat. Even a small amount of perspiration on my fingers and feet render this mat unusable. I’ve done everything – doused it with detergent, scrubbed it with detergent and a soft brush as recommended (4 times), rinsed it until it squeaked, soaked it hours in the bathtub, and it’s still unusable. It’s over with me and Manduka. Next stop for this mat: Kijiji.
